I had pics of @barf on my bedroom wall alongside Penny, Moul, Rowley and various others (Thiebaud etc) back in 90/91. Eeek!
Frightening how many mags got destroyed in the process.

Questions episode just went up!
A heavy one at times, some dark stuff in there! Hope you all enjoy! Merry Christmas
Really good. Was watching late last night and Craig’s ghost stories etc left me feeling well spooked
Been enjoying this one over a few sittings. Didn’t know a lot about Craig before.
Edit: Mike V stories were funny - esp the Country & Western CD covers one.
Ali Cairns was a brilliant guest! Looking forward to you guys seeing his episode

Here’s the guests to follow;
Carl Shipman

& a list of nearly 30 guests we’ve got to contact.
Your eyes on the thumbnail look way too Colgate, mate. Ha!
Didn’t you say that Dosset had agreed to be interviewed as well?
TV’s Marc Churchill
He sure has, we need to drop him a call and get it arranged.
That’s what I heard him referred to a while ago and I’ve quoted it ever since
Yeah I’ll be stealing that for sure
Just listened to the Alice and OG episode and read the new Companions Karma article. Funny how blunt Jamie was about it.
I’m sure theres more there but I guess it’s all old new now eh!
In other news, this was an absolute pleasure;
Fuck yes - I love Craig.
He was ripping when I first met him at 14 and he’s still fucking ripping now at 49.
Genuine working class kid who made it happen.
Big up
That was great - as legit as it comes.
Literally can’t meddle with the Smeddle.
A bunch of the people discussed on here: Craig, Brad Garner, Jon Weatherall etc etc are on this Nottingham scene video from 1994.
The Chroliver story…
lol.
I was there that evening. 333 in Old Street.
Deffo some confusion over it all, though.
I am fairly sure (or at least, Chris told us this…and later, Nicolson) that it was Passmore and not Nick Warman who approached him and mentioned Urban Games footage.
As there is Urban Games footage in Focal Point, which was Passmores video and which Nicolson was editing.
But maybe it was Nicks stuff from the Icon video as Craig says.
It doesn’t matter…I guess my point is that up until now, everyone I knew thought it was Passmore.
I do remember a couple of bits slightly differently from being there, though.
Chris came back to where we were and said that some bloke cornered him over how good he skated and how good all these clips are he has of him.
Chris was 16-17 and mouthy (and also, Chris is quite awkward with people he doesn’t know).
He said “Did you wank over it?”. 100%.
Smedley did come up and ask “are you Chris Oliver?” and then smacked him.
As for the crowd - Si Skipp and myself were there. And a couple of others. Maybe Will Gilbard, too and Benny Fairfax.
Tyrone is Terrance Anthony. Skater from London. SB local who has clips in Playing Fields. He was in the 333 that night but he reappeared well after this event. He wasn’t there at that point.
No one ‘thanked’ Smedley for punching Chris. Everyone got in the way with the "woah! woah! Woah!s and that was about it. Classic fight fizzle.
What happened after this was Skipp, myself and the rest there explained to Chris that what he said would have been funny to one of us, but you can’t talk to strangers like that. Craig didnt speak to any of us so no one was thanking him for punching our mate.
Also, he definitely didn’t ask everyone else “Who wants some” as a load of his mates grabbed him and dragged him off. Although he may have shouted that whilst being dragged backwards.
But yeah, granted; Chris was rude and he got a slap for it and the rest of us were a bit “you made your bed” to him.
And at NASS in Telford a year later, Smedley came up to Chirs and I and asked Chris for a word. They walked to the bar and Craig apologised and bought him a pint. And Chris said to him that a lot of dumb stuff comes out of his mouth and he probably deserved it.
It wasn’t “best thing that ever happened to me” stuff, though.
But also, I do feel there is no need to let the truth get in the way of a good story. haha.
Smedley is a lovely bloke. Always friendly.
Unless you insult his mates, I guess. And you cant really fault that.
And walking up to someone to apologise is pretty fucking sick in my book.
Good dude.
The Danny Way part is pretty good fun. Fully excited kid again.
I’m glad he is still ripping aged 49.
