Always say two more goes, then only have one.
Was trying a ride-on nosegrind at City Mill in Stratford. My back trucks just tap the ledge as I come off, not a full touch but enough to question if it’s a make or not
My tail tapped at the end of mine, didn’t really feel like cleaning it up. Kind of a sketchy trick in general. Fun spot though
But bummed not gunna film a clip this weekend
Got a stinker tonight. Nothing special - needs a tidy.
Straight to the story.
Thanks again @BvS for starting this idea up again. It came at the perfect time, was hella stressed and anxious with life in general, has pushed me to not drink for at least 3 out of the last 4 weeks because I need to feel fresh to skate.
Feel sooo much more comfortable on a board. And my legs don’t feel like anchors anymore.
Thanks @Pedromayn for advising me on a new camera to buy. One more little thing to get for it -but been back out filming street skating already again for the first time since my son was born, so 6 years. Just trying to get clips with a couple people and see what happens, but it’s so much fun
Fully got the love / bug back these last 7 weeks or so.
This was cool to read ned.
Copying this to paste for myself at a later date.
Haha thanks man. The amount of value I get / hold from this place is v high
Just saw it on instagram haha. Nice trick though, get in there for the redo!
Want it bigspin!
Good lord…
Don’t blame the Gonz man - it’s my poor form. Just gassed to skate ledges.
NEVER!
Edit: Wish I’d have said “He does the tricks, not them” now.
No worries. It’s been good for me too, being out of work and with no money, trying to get to the park a couple of times a week is free wholesome exercise and a nice mental break from stressing about paying the bills.
I’m finally seeing the benefits as well, I’m starting to feel more comfortable on the board (though I’m at the park right now and my legs feel like jelly). I think the attempts I’ve made the last couple of years to get back into skating regularly I’ve rushed, got frustrated at my lack of skill and then got hurt. This time I’ve been taking things a lot slower, and not stressing if I’m not getting tricks back and it seems to be working.
This – I’ve always skated just frequency, so when I can’t do everything I could do at 25 within 3 goes I just gave up, sat down and smoked too much weed to skate properly.
Best thing about having never been “good” in the first place is that it means I’m not harking back to a golden era now I’m in my late 40’s. I’ve always found skating difficult so it’s just as frustrating (and rewarding when I land summat after three hours) as it ever was!
I was never good haha. Just clambering back the minuscule amount I did have.
