I can’t believe I’ve never seen that before, amazing, I’m sure I’ve seen excerpts in Rolling through the decades and other nostalgia bits. Gonna have to find the time to watch the whole thing now.
Took these photos of underneath Preston Market a few years ago & assume there must be some footage from there? Went back in 2019 and the whole site was being demolished
Preston market gone?
I have some clips from about 2009-ish. That bank was good…
Me, joxa, ollie tyreman (what happened to him?) and Rob Smith went there and witnessed rogie wallride into that. He got the cover if document.
Yeah whole place was a pile of rubble when I last went
Sick. I think Tyreman was there when I went. Maybe?
Eddie Belvedere did a frontside wallride into it that day.
Stank of fish that bank in Preston.
‘’A year later this & the first use of ‘Uptown Top Ranking’ for a section ‘’
Even though I know it didn’t really qualify, I posted that in the U.K. skate video thread as it was the first footage of skating in Britain that I saw.. It was on kids tv. it invoked my first memorable feeling of ‘stoke’ I was still nagging the folks for a board so I had to go out for a hack on my bike instead whilst pretending I was skateboarding. I can remember singing the Hot Wheels n Big Deals tune to myself. The lasting memory I had of it was of the kids who pushed through Trafalgar Square and the street market, (the Uptown Top Ranking bit). I didn’t see it again for decades but when I did it took me straight back to that first viewing in the 70’s. Tangent from the architecture thread, sorry.
Ref this spot.. watched Fred Gall and Danny Dicola sesh this quarter at 1am from the my travel lodge window whilst tanning my last joint of the day.. then went to bed leaving them to it. In the morning Fred shot a photo there with CJ before we all got the boot and drove to Tottenham DIY spot.
Trying to find (& to no avail) pictures of Hanley Library as thas has/did have a similar but tighter bricked tranny all the way around the outside of the building.
Did Rogie make the ollie to frontside wallride that ended up being a Document cover? Word on the street & from two of his team mates at the time say it wasnt a make.. Please say it was as I feel cheated.
Well I remember him rolling away from it at mach 10 and nearly dying against the wall on the other side of road at the bottom, I think the only argument is the photo used might not have been the make.
Edit: didn’t help that there was no filmer that night which fuels the rumour.
Excellent… Now I sleep.
