It’s not actually YouTube but it’s not usual skate media. It’s like anything on your local news channel - a bit clueless, yet I still found it interesting, but I’m a sucker for anything Clyde. Here he is on PBS last week.

> Representation in skateboarding and the story behind an iconic photo of a young Black skateboarder.
‘’A 1979 photo of a young Black girl skateboarding on a rainy day in Fayetteville has ignited conversations about representation, culture and the power of skateboarding. Host Kenia Thompson explores the incredible journey of this now iconic image with guests Clyde Singleton, a pro skateboarder and writer; and Shaunda Shane, the mystery girl in the photo.’’

I had an AI picture of Robo getting sucked by a vacuum cleaner forced upon me by Instagram yesterday morning. I’d post it (it isn’t explicit) but I might get told off.

YouTube turns 20 today. Stating the obvious, but the platform has completely changed how skate videos are consumed, usurping physical media and granting skaters access to a range of content that was unimaginable before the streaming era. Videographers have adapted, and we seem to have settled upon a general formula for new videos: full-lengths are now, on the whole, shorter, with 15-25 minutes being the norm; HD over SD (soz but it’s true); and videos are structured in a more fluid way - montages rather than a series of clearly demarcated individual sections.
I have no idea what the most watched skate video on YouTube is, but this (inexplicably) has 1.1 billion views which probably makes it one of, if not the, most-watched skateboard related video on there:
[ ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3OZGiR9NTw)
In terms of more legit content, Richie Jackson (not legit) beats Nyjah (marginally more legit) for most-watched part, but what’s the most-watched section by a UK skater? Rowley’s ‘Sorry’ part seems to have stood the test of time and has racked up 1.2 million views. Can anyone do better?
