Pretty big covid outbreak in the Leeds skate scene. 6/7 homies confirmed positive and most (if not all) are double vaxed and boosted. Siiiiigh.

Spoke too soon, woke up this morning with what google has diagnosed as a swollen lymph node in my armpit and just a generally achey arm.

Had mine last week and wouldn’t mind the other arm doing to be honest. Bolster up my defences!
My sons school 1:1 tested positive last night. He’s tested negative, but gonna have to test again tomorrow morning just in case. Paranoid now!

I have exactly this symptom too, 48 hours later. Armpit is really sore.

That’s the one suggestion, yeah.
Meantime I have no idea if I’m DJing next week, or the week after, or if my local will even be open. Making it advice rather than law is to try to keep the hospitality industry onboard with it, but if folk aren’t going out and places aren’t being told they have to close, then these places won’t get any support and will probably close for good, after operating at a loss over Christmas.

Just want to bump this point and say that yes, this is true; _HOWEVER_, if you’re vaccinated, you transmit the virus you have for less time and in a lower volume. Your immune system attacks it much faster, which means you get rid of it sooner. I don’t understand why this point is so difficult for people to reason with.

Those same people are scared and have been tricked into believing some utter shit instead of following scientific evidence. If they were capable of actually doing the research they keep going on about and weren’t so gullible they wouldn’t be arguing so vehemently against their own health

Phrases like “staggering numbers”, “tsunami of infections” make me think they’re trying to tell us something without having to change the law.
And taking those countries off ‘the red list’ because it’s all so fucked now that it doesn’t matter isn’t reassuring.

If you subscribe to the belief that this is a milder form that spreads more easily and will lead to the suppression of more dangerous strains it could be the start of the end for covid.

I think it’s too soon to say really. But even if it is milder than previous strains and more like flu except virulent enough to cause 1 million infections a day as they’re projecting then that could still result in enough severe cases to cause problems in hospitals etc.
