Covid

I’ve not had it, and I do tests every week just to stay on the safe side as there have been cases throughout the last year at our boy’s nursery.

Dunno. I do know a lot of people I suppose. Just through stuff I’m involved with.

Neither I nor the wife have had it, despite me working all the way through in an office with lorry drivers coming and going from fuck knows where constantly; wife works at a preschool so we’ve been testing twice a week, every week for as long as we can remember.

Similar. And pretty much all of them are my old ‘90’s skate crew :slightly_smiling_face:

120k cases today then.

Wasn’t sure where to post this, bit of a long one - need a vent.

Just over 2 weeks ago we were told my mother in law had weeks to live because her cancer had spread. On the same day we found this out my dog got attacked by a staffy which led to him having a small operation (he’s fine now) and then we headed straight down to Cornwall from the midlands where my wife and her family are from. My wife stayed down there and I came back due to work and needing to get post op check ups for our dog. Just over a week ago my mother in law passed and it’s been a tough time for all of us, so naturally I was looking forward to being reunited with my wife and her family.

Had my booster on Wednesday and felt off since. Put it down to the jab. Had fully loaded the car this morning and was just gonna make a coffee for the long drive down when I checked the results of my lateral flow and it was positive. In pure disbelief I did 2 more - all the same.

Safe to say I am devastated. Not looking forward to being alone for the next 10 days in the slightest. Strangely since testing positive I feel like my taste is going.

I did a test in Wednesday and was negative, since then have only been to the shop by mine for all of 5 minutes to get a Christmas card for my wife.

Life’s throwing in some curve balls right now for sure!

Crikey that’s a lot to take on and just whole lot of bad stuff going on! Guess all you can do is to try and make the most of the time off even if it is alone and make use of video chats to help as well. This new variant just seems insanely infectious doesn’t it.

Thanks bud.

Update: Sense if taste has gone just in time for me to dish up my dinner! Lovely stuff.

Bloody hell, booster jab has kicked seven living shades of shit out of me. Like the worst trembly hangover, but thankfully free of the need to vomit.

Same as I had. It goes in 24 hrs but it blows.

Yep - I got mine 9am yesterday (23rd) and at 10:30pm today (24th), I still have a good headache.
I felt like utter shite till about midday today.
Fully kicked my arse.

Day 4 into solo self isolation. Lost my sense of taste on Christmas Eve but was strangely back by Christmas Day. Today is the worst I have felt since Christmas Eve, and the only symptoms I have right now is a very mild cold. Otherwise fine. Thank you triple jabs.

Only side effects are boredom and sympathy for my dog who hasn’t been out for days.

Have had 2 Pfizer’s and just queuing up for a booster and it’s a Pfizer. Wife went same clinic yesterday and got a Moderna.

Hoping Pfizer has the same affect as my 2nd dose which was none.

Wife feels a little run down but Ibroprofin helped after her Moderna booster.

I’ve had Pfizer for all 3 of my jabs. I felt fine on all of them except for the booster, which is probably down to having my flu jab on the same day. Even then it was only a bit of an ache.

Had 3rd Pfizer yesterday, bit of a sore arm and took an unexpected afternoon nap, all chillin.

PCR tests are a myth right now. My dads tested positive in a LTF but can’t get a PCR test anywhere or sent to the house!

You can buy one surely?
