Day 5 in my Covid house.
Today’s list of symptoms include - insane heartburn, no sense of taste (had a bacon sandwich earlier and it felt like I was eating an envelope stuffed with leaves), chest pains, cough. Stoked?

Played pool last night (wore a mask…for a bit) and now have dry cough, blocked nose, no sense of smell etc. And also insanely hung over. Hope I don’t have it now, only got negative test results back couple days ago.
uh oh. get tested again. stay safe.
So the new vaccine stops 90% of people getting the Rona. Meaning 10% will still get it, and we won’t know which ones. How reassuring is that really, if you’ve got an extra reason to not want it, like asthma?
Obviously the vaccine is good news but not sure now everything goes straight back to normal even when it’s out there?
If you’re happy taking the chickenpox vaccine, that is only 80% effective.

Those 90% also stop being a vector to transmit to the remaining 10%. So it’s pretty damn reassuring

So many people I know are booing on this vaxine. I don’t get it. I also don’t get why people i thought were normal sensible people seem to be turning into complete conspiracy driven anti vac jelly brains with science degrees. I will have no problem getting it. Vaccines work.

Partly poor scientific education and lack of understanding of how vaccines work, but mostly it’s the 21st century mass delusion that everybody’s opinion is actually important. It pisses me off so much.

I get it, there is a huge distrust with the people in power and big pharma and it’s these people who are going to provide the vaccine.
What people have to do is really think and separate what these entities are being distrustful with and what they are doing in their actual job.
Pharma might be cunty with their profits, the blatant greed and monopolies etc but this is a by product of the humans who run them not their main objective. Their main schtick is still to do groundbreaking work in order to provide the world with solutions to problems. We can still hate players, matches and whatever but not the whole game.

My favourite part of all this are the people I know who shovel mass quantities of shite up their schnozzle every weekend who are like;

Really? You take stuff that is cut with basically lint rolled in dog’s wazz and you’re skeptical about a vaccine?
One boy I used to go to raves with a few years ago is proper on a mad one, posting some of the craziest theories on the whole virus. He’s posted a clearly fake article summarizing the rate of infection actually worses wearing masks, than not.
