Drum machine / synth / sampler geekery

Get a couple of generic power supplies with the interchangeable adapters to swap polarity and voltage switches. That way you can use them for anything. Loads of pedals have different polarities.

I carelessly fried a Bogner pedal swapping power supplies willy nilly.

Yeah they’re great. I’ve got one somewhere. Somewhere…

Popped into town today to buy a new guitar and got distracted by the synth department, been swooning over old DX7s and Junos for a while on You Tube but managed to get a little play with some modern Korgs and Moogs today

shite, I can think of nothing else at the moment, my credit card is currently in a very precarious lace at the moment

Be careful, I was there once. Now I have a studio full.

Not for me but good ad.

If you want some moogy analogue goodness on a budget, try the uno synth with a midi keyboard. Squidgy

Or the pro has a half decent keyboard. Bargain

It’s a mono synth so best for basses and leads

I watched that last night, proper laughed. Someone in their PR department needs a bonus. Shame the device itself seems very limited and not much more than a very expensive toy for people with an already stacked amount of gear

Roland doing analogue again. Massive beast. Looks like you can play samples melodically as well.

When this comes out it might be a good time to get a used tr08

Shiny things  I get so want-y. Need to learn the shit I’ve got inside out before any new purchases. And mute this thread.

I don’t feel the urge with this. I bet its pricey. Wouldn’t mind a go though

Just checked. £2k +

Dark season is here again so it’s time to play with the Volca 2 you lot made me buy a couple of years ago - I’m still in the ‘load samples and be blown away that that’s even possible’ stage.

Eve Of The War at the moment! :ear:

Paying my eldest’s rent at uni has been a massive financial reality check tbh. I’m not dropping £250 on a drum machine let alone £2.5k. Like you would absolutely love a play around with one though. Beast!

I don’t see the point in yet another recreation personally but I don’t want to use recogniseable sounds. I want to sample and synthesise every element myself. But there are still a lot of people who crave for that sound and want to keep making stuff like their heroes. That’s fair enough, these people keep the gear world producing gear rather than software.

Akai MPC Live 3 revealed through Sweetwater, seems like they’ve gone a bit mad trying to cram stuff in

Just seen the price, £1400 - jesus, not worth that

Might pick one up when I’m buying my TR1000. Casual £4k spend.

I’m amazed no-one bought Dan’s supreme mpc he was selling. That was a bargain

The mpc one is approx £500 and does nearly everything.

Not into that expressive pads stuff. Bit pointless

Just took possession of this bastard
