At least Esther McVey and Leadsom are out. Two utter, utter Michael Fabricants that will hopefully fuck right off. Boris as PM…jesus. The Tory party are a complete and utter disgrace. How many new lows can we go through until we are at absolute rock bottom? It has felt like we hit it loads of times but we keep digging down deeper and deeper down into the shit. He goes against all the values of the Conservative party but they are willing to hold their nose and make him leader because he can out ‘personality’ Farage and save the party. As I see it, we’re pretty much guaranteed Boris as PM. Assuming he doesn’t lose a load of supporters (and there’s about 30 votes to be picked up from the ones that’ve been knocked out, he’ll probably get some of them) he’ll get to the final two, and the membership - apparently - love him. His promise to up the tax threshold won’t have done any harm either. So that’s Boris as PM, likely followed by a no deal Brexit. Then when we’re basically completely fucked, with lorries full of rotten food stuck in queues and people dying because they can’t get essential medicines we’ll somehow be in a better position to negotiate trade deals. And it’ll all be the fault of the EU and Jeremy Corbyn and anyone who dared to suggest that perhaps it was a bad idea. Not the Tory party that caused it, nor the 52% that voted for it. Boris will be sat watching his bank account and those of his friends swell while we scrabble to feed our kids. Fucking brilliant. ---
