I don’t smoke weed but would back that. More actual money into the country, less people blocking up the criminal system and like said, would stop funding a lot of illegal activity by criminal gangs selling it.

I have a digital ID here, it’s just my driving licence on my phone, download the Gov NSW app and my license shows up. Adding another ID doesn’t make sense, just give a digital option for an existing one. The databases already exist. Everyone wins except people who want it to be about “illegals” for some reason.

Wasn’t that long ago that people were unhappy about moving closer to a cashless society, now folk swipe their phone that contains all their cash details, that they open using biometrics, that’s backed up to a cloud server in a different country that we have no idea whether they’ve sold that to the highest bidder or for perverting an algorithm to sell us more Temu socket sets. And all from a black rectangle we can’t be parted from for more than 10 minutes or we go into cold sweats.

Expect it’s mandatory which is what makes it ominous for me. The government are making it about illegals in their reasoning but we know it’s about more than that. It all seems a bit smoke and mirrors for me personally now. Like you said it already exists.

It will do – we are doing the same as America. Starts with multiple companies offering Medicinal Cannabis, then will get released recreationally.
I mean I will continue to smoke regardless. Its not a drug in my opinion its a plant, and I have felt waaaaaay more spicy from prescription painkillers for example.
