Instagram Blowouts

Maybe Frank Shaw was just drunk. Maybe it was just a big laugh.

Ah, we do like to have a laugh when we are drunk…

And beat up girls.

There was a post on that @luredbyproskaters Instagram account describing what Frank Shaw had done as described by the victim. As Neddy was saying, it was horrific - verbal and physical abuse which culminated in Frank pissing on his girlfriend to humiliate her.

That post has since been deleted and the Slap thread about it locked: Login There may be some legal action going on.

Frank Shaw isn’t massively well known, granted, but he did have a sections in the last couple of Heroin videos. I always think framing these things in terms of ‘growth’ is always problematic, but I think Heroin handled it alright.

Who watches Heroin videos? This has got people all over the world going “Who? Oh well, fuck him!” which probably isn’t good for his ‘growth’.

Some little company like this making a big fuss over kicking off somebody nobody’s ever heard of doesn’t compare to the global distribution of a t-shirt company done by a proven domestic abuser.

I watched the last Heroin video, in which he had last part. The company aren’t what they used to be, for sure, but that doesn’t mean they’re irrelevant. I think Heroin had to address this - it sounds like Shaw acknowledged that there was some truth to the allegations and there was already some attention being given to the situation. It’s not some proactive virtue signalling from Fos, it’s a response to a very bad situation.

Also I totally agree Rip n Dip shouldn’t be let off the hook, but that is a separate situation. The allegations against the owner went viral again a few months ago, but dismantling a company’s years of success is much more difficult than dropping someone from a sponsor.

Yeah, the wife beating stuff gets brought up again and again on Slap. But even from the beginning, the guy they stole the ‘logo’ from was clear about what had happened.

But it’s because 12 year-old kids don’t know or care about all this boring stuff. Heroin is an old guy company so they should have been a bit clearer about what’s going on. I guess any company that gives Craig Questions money is a bit suspect anyway though.

If people really wanted to hurt Rip n Dip, I would target the big chain stores like Zumiez etc. that stock them and push them to not support a domestic abuser’s company. I agree, the brand is too big for a viral Instagram post/Slap thread to do too much damage.

Does the brand need to be cancelled? Can’t the dickhead involved just be bought out and banished or something?

It’s a moot point when the people buying it don’t care.

And I appreciate it’s helping keep the lights on in otherwise decent shops.

Yeah I mean ‘cute girls’ love cats and shit.

Back Questions after Blokes.

Edit: just read LS post. Comment retracted.

questions is the whole reason I’ve not watched Blokes.
I think I’d enjoy it, otherwise.

It’s actually really REALLY fucking great. You’d probably love it! I can understand why you’re not keen though

I tried. Thought I loved that kind of thing but managed about five minutes. It’s like a bunch of dudes who’d have been on a Big Push or in a Death video twenty years ago except they’re twenty years older and still trying to be absolute madlads for the camera.

Yer that story is wank

I watched it all the way through. If the guy who made it did the same thing but with good skaters it would be awesome.

*Forgot his name. (I know he’s not a nazi)
