Instagram Blowouts

Yeah but Kalis and Carolino don’t look stiff and rigid - I’d say they just skate ‘average’ trucks and they’ve still got flow. As good as the tricks were in that Insta clip above, I felt like I was watching someone skate in a straight jacket.

Not everyone has to have loose trucks but noticeably tight trucks are like people skating slowly, in that it’s impressive when someone is hauling ass, you’ll just take in the skating when someone is going at a regular pace/optimum speed whereas it sticks out like sore thumb if someone is going slow.

On one hand, I get where you’re coming from though. I fucking hate watching people who basically have loose trucks as their gimmick and skate in way that basically boils down to going fast and skating shit spots/non-spots as an excuse for doing shit tricks.

That is partly to do with his coiled-spring style that it looks like that too. It definitely looks less flowing than guys like Max Palmer. I think you can focus more easily with tight trucks but there is a higher hang-up factor too. I’ve rolled my ankles pretty bad before when skating tight setups.

Fucking love fs heels. I get peoples beef with them but I think they have their own thing going

Yeh that one looked good. I think I prefer them switch normally

Regs frontside heels are so hard and so underrated. At their best when they’re they’re flicked and caught in a similar way to a frontside kickflip.

Throwing Dollin in the mix too:

Yeah he’s got a good one.
He did one down Lloyds on a 411 that was sick.
Maybe a Vans tour? Baker tour? Stereo tour?
Something anyway

Footage at 4:36 (link should play from there anyway).

*edit: knew Dylan had a better one. Bump to bar at 2:21. The wobble on the ride away makes it.

This turning into a fs heel appreciation thread has basically made my year

Dylan had a great one for sure.

Gilbert with one up the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater-esque roof gap at 6:45 (embedded from there again).

There are so many things in that Dylan section that are totally flawless, I love that part so much. He does another (better IMO) FS heel on a bump to bar later as well. The impossible over the bench, back smiths (handrail and pool), tailslide flip out, and the fakie heel over the rail are all legit contenders for best evers I reckon. So iconic.

that bench impossible is definitely a top ten “moments in skateboarding” for me. completely nuts, utterly perfect

Filmed by Strobeck, pre-Strobeck filming style too, right?

I’ll add Saari’s one over the bar at Besos to the list
