Saw footage of someone doing the same trick switch on a crusty local street spot the other day.
not instagram but i just found this series of ‘day in the life’ mini vids from Pocket skateboarding. there is about 20 of them dating back a couple of years and i am about halfway through but this is a new one from this month.
they are quite simple but i found them really enjoyable - can’t get my head around how good people are at skating even when just chilling they can apparently do anything within a couple of tries.
early ones seem to have heavy primitive/new balance team focus but its nice to see how tight they all are as a crew. i also was surprised by how much they eat out - seems to be every meal every day if this is anything to go by..
the difference between the Cali ones and the Thaydan Costa one in Lisbon is also quite notable
this newest one as well - if i smoked and drunk that much in a day no way i am even getting up let alone still ripping it up
Anyone else think that Kevin White dude is just a bit crap? Surprised he’s pro and also on adidas.
100%. He seems like a nice enough guy but he has a really stinking style and trick selection. The adidas hook up must be flow, surely?
He seems a bit stiff. Like his roll-aways are pretty sketch and clunky for the most part. He does come across as a nice dude and IC is kind of a ‘homies’ company so I guess that’s how he got the board. Only thing is that they turned him pro along with Alex Midler, who has outgrown the contest/park kid kind of thing, (red bull hook up aside) and turned into a gnarler. Zach Saraceno, who kills it, was the other guy who went pro with him and obviously next to Zach, Kevin is never going to look smooth. He’s so clearly not on the same level as the other two guys.
Funny you should mention GSD. I thought about him today. Well, an interview or article he had somewhere 30 ish years ago, in which he recalls being caught in a ‘pollen storm’ when he was a kid. I was riding my bike today and, by mistake took a turn along a completely overgrown downhill trail with waist high grasses that were all going to seed and I just thought to myself at the time, ‘ just go as fast as you can in order to stay ahead of the pollen, you don’t want to get caught out like GSD.’
yeah but adidas do also sponsor blondey so i mean…

Blodneys not crap though, just a bit of a kook
The Hjalte Halborg one was by far my favourite, ticking a load of boxes for how I like to live - cycling to the skatespot, porteur rack on the bike, lots of sunshine, friends, swimming, minimal stress with doing the fun things in life alongside the family and work responsibilities. It’s always good to see how others live, whether it’s something to aspire to or avoid at all costs.
Christ, is that an April board?!
Yes it is, but he was riding a Krooked board recently too, so let’s not jump to any unsavoury conclusions ![]()
His new company…

Joy Division song name. All bases covered.
He combines the worst elements of moshers and EDM ravers. I don’t like it.
Crust punk imagery so hot rite now.
“designed” this on that site in around 30-40 seconds…and prefer it to Nigels board.
The kickflip! THPS hangtime on full
