100%, it’s got that weird sheen to it. Why would he be wearing knock off adidas otherwise, and what’s going on with the left arm of his sunglasses - no way that’s resting on the top of his ear.

Was literally going to say the same. It’s not art, it’s not been created by imagination. I guess you could call the prompt imagination but the result is a blend of the internet.
Like it or not I think it will turn into a legitimate kind of art. I remember feeling the same way about stuff created in Photoshop.
The same could be applied to photography couldn’t it? How is that art? It’s simply capturing an absolute slice of space and time, nothing new is being created.

Yeah man I know it’s inevitable. I hate Ai more because its superficial purpose is to make it easier for businesses to fuck their workforce over.
Yes, it also has life-changing implications for medicine and health care but I feel like the salient experience of Ai for most of us will be more along the lines of ‘look at this gorilla dressed up in a suit selling me carpets’ or whatever.
Photography is another example of technology overriding the magical aura of art (painting etc) hence the Walter Benjamin essay I linked above but culture absorbed photography and it turned into art regardless of the initial fear.
I hope the same happens with Ai but I don’t have much hope.
