It was one of those things I didn’t think much of, then it turned out to be really good according to a few heads I saw post about it online. So, thought it’d be nice to go and see, like. Shame there isn’t any closer! ---

About 20 years ago I guess, I interviewed Jeffrey Lewis for Document mag. He was a lovely bloke, as you’d expect. Unexpectedly, a couple of weeks later, he sent over a little comic strip that he had drawn, a rad little story about me and the photographer coming to the gig and going backstage and interviewing him. I sent it to Percy at Doco but it was too late to get into the mag, that month’s deadline had passed and the interview was already done. That was the noughties, I soon lost track of the PC and email account that I had at that time, Doco mag disappeared, and I never saw that little comic strip again. ---

So, here’s Slayer at the final Black Sabbath show. Check out their cover of Wicked World, it goes into South Of Heaven in the middle then comes back into Sabbath for the end. > **[Dailymotion](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9qyyn8)** ---

Hahaa, so this is frustrating… After typing that out just now, I thought I’d see if I could still get into that old email account. Turns out I could, but this is the only related email that I could find… ![FireShot Capture 038 - Email - dan mirza - Outlook - outlook.live.com](https://uksf-media.lon1.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/original/3X/5/f/5f83340b5b4387f288717a277858119af1b43897.png) So close… ---

He replied! What a nice fellow. He said “ _… No memory of that comic strip. I do recall being in some skate magazine, probably that one because why would I ever be in one skate magazine, let alone more than one?”_ As for him archiving everything… _“I ought to still have it somewhere. But did scanners even exist in 2002? I remember having to physically mail artwork to Rough Trade for my album cover! Hmm. “_ I don’t expect him to start looking through all his stuff for a tiny bit of paper that he can’t remember from 2002. But, stoked. At least I got to apologise for him wasting his effort and it never being printed. Right, I’m off to listen to Bad Wiring. ---

That’s very cool. I really rate him. His album of Crass covers is solid. And the Fall covers one, too! Not live, but this is fun as fuck: [Republican Rednecks](https://open.spotify.com/track/4HNRYFjvcELb1Gi1pJ52Bp) ---
