Hey folks, as I mentioned in a comment above I’m toying with the idea of automating the games.

My goal is to increase the longevity of this game and ideally be able to run it forever.

Unfortunately not going to be able to pick clips forever (hence the comment about asking for some help).

The way to achieve running this longer is to automate it, but that comes with some trade offs as the clips won’t be as curated any longer by yours truly, but rather by a poser (the computer).

How would you feel if:

  • there were repeat games but with different clips
  • the clip hint quality was potentially more “random” and less memorable
  • the 6th clip no longer being as helpful of a clue

I can imagine from being a delight, it becomes a bit of a pain, especially when you’ve run through all your favourites, your mate’s favourites, and all the obvious ones.

  • Repeat games are fine with me, as long as it is made very clear there could be repeats (but set rules, like only every 6 months?).
  • Clip hint quality fine with me, but not completely random, there needs to be some curation, you can’t just stick on the vert guys
  • Sometimes the 6th clip doesn’t help me at all, I am indifferent to this

Personally fine with repeat videos. I think that is a sensible move.

More random clips and less clues might make an already difficult game even trickier. Probably impossible, but if you could in some way automate it so the 6th clip came from the last section in a video (and even was the last proper clip in a video) that might be a fair compromise as these sections tend to be the most memorable. Or you curated the 6th clip only? Might not save that much work.

Making it totally automated wouldn’t be the end of the world.
