This has happened to me a few times, you’re indicating right, start turning right but ultimately turn left to reverse in. When you phrase it like this it sounds like you’re in the wrong because how is someone behind you going to know you’re turning back out into the road?
Because of this I now wait until there’s no one behind me before doing it. No idea what the correct interpretation of the highway code is but no matte what, the guy who almost hit you is a pus face brexit gammon

Been thinking about it. There’s no “I’m going to reverse park here” signal (you would think slowing right down and indicating at a house would be a big fucking clue).
Just going to write it off as the actions of one tosser because I’ve done this 1000+ times with no incidents before.

saw a poster for an album release, from a band called The Inhalers. “cor, the photocopy’d pic looks proper early 90s indie, i’ll check them out”

also, i think someone near me has been evicted. their stuff was all over the front of the house. i felt a bit sad - seeing life’s bits and pieces all dumped out in the open.
then, in amongst the junk, i saw the biggest dildo, and roared with laughter

People are impatient/don’t give a shit/are idiots. I was halfway through a 3 point turn a couple of weeks back and some bell couldn’t wait an extra 10 seconds and drive past the rear of my car whilst I was reversing 🤡
Sounds like in your situation had you indicated left and pulled left to reverse back, the other driver would have tried to pass you on your right 🙄

Funnily enough the exact same situation happened again tonight.
Someone right up behind me when i got to my house. I pulled over on the right just after my drive and let him go around me before reversing back in. It’s the safest way of doing it as long as no one is coming up the road at me!
And yes if I indicated left (even though i wanted to park on the right) I would’ve plonked my car in the road to reverse in and he would’ve hit my rear side anyway by trying to go around me the other way. I couldn’t win.
Lesson learnt I guess. Just keep cool and let knobheads fuck off.

Mrs was doing the school run one morning. There’s a row of terraced houses on one side of the street with parked cars, as she went to cross she noticed a dildo in the gutter of the curb. On the way back it wasn’t there so who ever dropped it from their car must have realised!
