Just found these tucked away at work in a box. Got a feeling that Buildafire might have needed them but can’t remember why I didn’t send them.

I remember stealing the Vaughan cover issue from a local Christian Youth Club that had skate ramps on a Friday in the sports hall with a carpet tile floor!

When did Sidewalk drop the “Surfer”? I got into skating in 01/02 and one of my earliest memories is picking up some Sidewalk Surfer mags from the car boot (so could have been a couple years old at that point) and taking them into school and making collages from them. There was a Chet Thomas A Team ad I loved and remember being confused that I couldn’t find an A Team board anywhere.

So went on a research mission on eBay…
So it’s between issue 33 and issue 37.
Issue 33 (Ali Cairns, Radlands cover) - Jan/Feb 1999
Issue 37 - Seth Curtis Wallie
Issue 33 also reminds me that they used to publish 10 issues per year, rather than 12 thanks to the weather.

Issue 33 was my first Sidewalk. It was before I knew what any tricks were and I was so confused about what was happening with that cover. Pretty sure I thought it was just a wallride
