That was an unexpected warehouse move which did that, so stock was showing as it was arriving in the new spot.
First night skating in a pair. I’d wore them a little as chillers so to speak but normally I’d be moaning about a change of shoe for a session or so but they were pretty easy to get used to and within an hour I’d forgotten I was in new shoes.
Tempted to buy another pair, the LA ones look nice, loving the croc detail.
Looks like a Lampin hiding under all the hideousness.
Argh my eyes!!!
I said they were horrible ages ago but that was when they were doing plain colourways. That is absolutely heinous.
Nike are impressively shit at the moment. I wonder if they’ll bother with another Nyjah shoe.
That colour scheme with black soles and a black lower part of the upper will always look like clown shoes, simllar to these -
Or Allstars with a black sole & toe cap and most Last Resorts.
Not sure if I’m throwing this in the right area but has anyone got any shoe recommendations?
always just stuck with the same brands over the years, you know, the core brands of the mid 2000’s, DC, Vans Etnies Nike etc but the quality and fit is just getting progressively worse, especially now I’m skating again i’m really noticing just how much they fit like shit. I like the look of some of those New Balance numerics but are they any good or am I just buying the same shit?
can’t believe how much things haver changed in 17 years as mad as that sounds, no idea what’s good anymore
NB make really good shoes, only thing to watch out for is that their sizing can be a bit all over the place so you might have to size up/size down to get the best fit
The Westgate 508 is possibly the best shoe I’ve skated in the last 10 years.
If you wanted to stay ‘core’ the Etnies Marana is spoken about in hushed voices as also being really good. And people have strong opinions on Last Resort but they destroyed my feet and I personally think the quality is not at all worth the price
Yep. I found them really durable too and had about 6 months skating around 4.5 hours per week in them.
Got three pairs of the Westgates on rotation and the black gum are proper gorge
I’ll have to check these out, I was looking at the 440 v2’s coz I love the sea salt/green with the gum sole, but I can’t get them in my size anywhere. heard NB sizing isn’t great before though tbh, got massive, odd shaped feet though so most places don’t hold stock which makes trying anything an absolute ball ache. tried a pair of vans old skool skate last week and they felt great except for the fact they crushed my right hand big toe down, left was fine weirdly.
Not at all fussed about sticking with any brand, just my knowledge of what’s good is severely limited these days, I mean the last pair of shoes I bought to skate where a pair of Osiris and that was in like '06, maybe '07. wouldn’t want them touching my feet these days looking back.
Aside from NBs (that I haven’t had the opportunity to try properly yet) I’m just sticking with the tried and tested classics. Half cabs, o.g. adi busenitz and dunks. Oh and the éS swift 1.5 deserves a shout out as well, skates straight out the box.
Well as far as I can see I can’t find anywhere online that has any NB’s in stock even close to my size so I think I’m gonna end up with something like half cabs, might try another pair of old skools if I get chance.
That said I have always had a soft spot for those éS swifts, nice looking shoe, never had a pair either, How’s the fit?
I’m a uk8 in nike and Vans and they’re bang on
Don’t do it, your feet will thank you. I’d only skate or walk in newly designed Vans now.
