I assume then you have to hand pick the choice every day? Or do you have a random pick. And do you have to hand pick each clip from the video? @skateboardle_dev

Yep each dayâs clips are handpicked. I did make a small program to pick random clips but the results werenât awesome. I like putting some thought into the clips I choose, for example I tried to throw people off on the Good & Evil entry by having Rowley as the first clip etc.
Itâs definitely been a lot of work! But Iâm going to try to keep it going as long as I can.
The only downside is that it has slowed the development for SkateVideoSite a bit. A lot of my free computer time (which isnât much now a days, have a 9 month old), has gone to picking the clips and by the time Iâm done Iâm either too tired or donât have time to do further development.
But itâs all been a load of fun, especially seeing the reception and that itâs something people look forward to each day.
Quite the contrary! The initial âhateâ mail I saw was from the younger crowd not knowing the older videos lol
Tough job eh? We had the idea here that you could filter vids by year to keep the older heads happy. But itâs such a manual job, that would be a nightmare.

Last try today. Iâm finding vids I somehow missed or had forgotten about and its a treat watching them now.
First go today simply due to yhe not a nillion miles way comment. Stoked.
Yep itâs been a ton of work, but itâs been worth it!
We also floated an idea internally of further categorizing the videos by decade but decided it wasnât really worth the extra effort right now. Another almost feature was listing the skaterâs names in the clips, but didnât do that either as Iâm currently optimizing for reducing the amount of time it takes me to upload a video.
Shamefully 5th guess today. Needed an iconic skater to get the video. Music choices were also very tramline which threw me.

Really worth spending the time to sit down and revisit if you ever get a quiet evening.
The editing in static 2 is really dated in some parts (making shier dance for the camera) but as a series itâs timeless.
Differing styles and shoe brands, not the same board team, so knew it wasnât a board, clothing or shoe vid. Transworld was most obvious. Although I think I did have the actual vid I only watched a couple sections over and over.
