Didn’t get today’s until the last one. Brooklyn Banks (it was the Brooklyn Banks, wasn’t it?) in the first clip sent me on an early Zoo York wild goose chase, then I went with a couple of H-Street videos because of the era. Saw Rodney at the end and got it straight away. Completely not my area of expertise but I devoured everything I could find online by him before I’d even bought my first board. How my tastes have changed since.

mine absolutely is. vaguely interesting etymology tangent: Dutch (and it’s familiar-to-me bastard dialects) calls it ‘afval’, which translates directly into ‘fall off’. Basically the shit that gets thrown on the ground. the ‘V’ in dutch is pronounced as we do ‘F’, so we just appropriated it phonetically. So it sounds the same in both languages with hilariously different spelling. So hilarious that it should be a daytime game show segment or something.

Same as Load. Guessed some Firm vid but didn’t really look like Bob. But 2nd clip gave it away as I was quite into this De La remix and really liked Chad Tim Tim

When I started skating, for some reason I had it in my head that New Deal and Black Label were in some ways related to one another. Not as close as Girl and Chocolate, but getting toward that sort of set up. I think it stemmed from New Deal UK distributing Black Label.
