It’s ridiculous but it’s also a bit like watching Faces of Death or something, part of my brain is waiting for someone to step out behind a car or a bus to pull round the corner.

Joslin has been quietly killing it on those Winkle tv things. He’s not my cup of tea at all but it’s really impressive to watch in a session context, his level comes across better than an edited part.

If either Joslin or Baekkel win it, will it be the first time a SOTY has won (at least since 2000) who hasn’t had at least one top-tier sponsor?
Joslin on Plan B and Lakai, Baekkel on Creature and shoe flow.
He does a slight swerve, over half way down the hill, and it looks for a moment like he’s going to smash into the back of a parked van. Nerves of steel to be able to right himself.
I do worry though, long-term, that with all the head injuries Baekkel’s brain health will be quite bad.

Joslin has a slight rep for being a kook, and I wonder if that will stand against him despite all the gnarlyness. eg. Skating for Lakai after everyone left, his Rockstar sponsorship and associated Insta content, this weird macho workout kick he’s on etc. If he ain’t already, I could see him being full blown MAGA later on.
It was interesting to see Thrasher repost the Antonio Durao part on their insta considering it was for Quartersnacks. They don’t usually do stuff like that ever. Shit like that says to me Durao will be in the running for sure.
