I enjoyed the first event. My only criticism is that it was just another SLS stop. There was literally no difference. In fact if anything it was a less quality skatepark and with worse filming and commentating than SLS
Edit - this Cariuma thing, either they’re paying a fuck ton of people a fuck ton of money or they’re legit good shoes. Has anyone filmed a real part in them yet?

How so?
I don’t get how some random Brazilian start up has the cash to flash? Berrics can’t have that much money to back them surely. They’re not going to be ousting legit, established shoe brands

It’s not really a random Brazilian start up though, it’s some American business/investment geezer from Harvard.
And just look at the advertisers at the Berrics since the Hypebeast acquisition. You think those Tik Tok banners went up for free? Reckon they painted it up like Minions for a laugh?
Edit: Also definitely not from a legit background. Nike don’t really need to do that I don’t think.

Unless I mandella-effected myself I was sure Aurelien left Nike? But he was wearing Nike shoes. I know he hasto wear _something_ but surely he wouldn’t leave Nike before having something lined up but then still wear their shoes at the most high profile skateboard event of all time?

Maybe he just got dropped from payroll and gets flow. Or has no other sponsors interested and is using his old stash.
You’d be insane to enter olympics with equipment you weren’t used to (eg new shoes)

Look at who they’re sponsoring though. Hardly A listers. I reckon they’ve been really savvy and have played the social media numbers, getting riders who could potentially extend their exposure and who were in need of a shoe sponsor.
