The BBC commentators were hardly any better when it came to the Olympic ceremony. A lot of “And now the Central African Republic. Sadly, the site of an ongoing civil war, hopefully these athletes can life the nation’s spirits!” But also, as Build references, these are observable facts about the countries. Yeah, it’s blunt stereotypes, but what are the commentators meant to say in the 30 seconds they have until the next country rolls out? ---

Just finished watching the Womens Street Finals. Fucking excellent. Every bit. I did think the comping was weird, but then…sort of gave it a pass as theres so much strategy at this level that you can’t give up on your high scoring go-tos just because someone else is claiming it. Bit of an excuse but made sense in my head. Marji is rad and Rayssa. Alexis, obvs. Fuck it…everyone was. Stoked to catch a glimpse of Wileman, too. ---

Wait, so you can’t just pick up a skateboard and do that shit? Well fuck that, no wonder all the kids these days are so into show-jumping and canoe slalom.
