Just a friendly game of baseball led to the first Nas album which is, again, goddamn fire

I’m gonna shut up now. Just love that era of hip hop and so glad it was happening when I was a teenager!

This has just reminded me that I’m pretty sure I saw Cannibal Ox play, back in about 2005/2006. They played at a pub in Lancaster and the first 5 mins of the set was just white noise and feedback while the DJ rebooted his laptop.
Lancaster has, and had, quite an active music scene, but I still have no idea why they would have been booked to play a gig to 100 people in the north of England.

Got to thank 411 for introducing me to Gangstarr. Koston best of profile . And then loads more throughout the early 411 videos.
As said already, 411 is responsible for shaping so many of skaters music tastes .
so sick .

The Cold Vein? Its a great album but if you’re not feeling El P production nothing is going to save it haha. Pigeon is so good. Came out during my brief ecstasy phase…

Russel was at the RaD thing - surprised you didn’t see him there. Still exactly the same. Solid human being.

You know what? I think Sam Ashley pointed him out to me.
Turns out I have thought of that name very recently then. But I’m too old to remember new memories now.

Skating starts at 1.20
If it’s a homage to Heath, Heath did it way better.
The music really sucks any air out of it.

Jon Miner fucking loves Explosions in the Sky.
Don’t get me wrong, so do I, they’re a great band. But he already used them to death during the MADE series, and using them again now doesn’t exactly scream Emerica are moving forwards.
Hoban has impeccable flick though
