I don’t think he’s actually far right or really anything except a hopeless muddle of frequently horrible views. I think he’s monumentally stupid and childishly naive when it comes to anything to do with politics. It feels to me like whilst he thinks he’s floating far and dispassionately above lowly concerns making judgements based on the evidence he is in fact so far out of his depth that he’s swayed by anyone who sounds convincing and has realised that flattery will get them everywhere with him. Latterly they seem to have been right wingers using free speech as their way in.

He’s like a lot of these people who are clearly intelligent but have an ego.
It’s the whole ‘I can solve the world’ because I’m so smart thing, but for them it’s at any cost, like it’s a zero sum game.
It’s like not wearing a mask because they weighed up the odds, but even if they’re right, just fucking wear one and get over it.

Absolutely. His entire personality is a classic sociopathic narcissist, very similar to Trump, dealing only in absolutes, trying to take the claim for others work and constantly glorifiying himself. I cannot stand the guy and everything he stands for.
