# The UK skateboarding web landscape

Obviously forums are for internet dinosaurs, so this place only has a limited appeal.
But other than social media, where else is the UK skateboarding scene “online”?
What blogs, sites, channels or whatever else do you visit or know of?

Good question. The UK skate scene feels very fragmented currently. It’s hard to tell where is popping off in terms of a scene or who the up and comers are.
Obvious places I go to - Vague and the Skateboarder’s Companion, but mainly via their YouTube pages. Vague do post a lot of non-UK content though, so not sure if they’re looking to be a bit more like Free mag rather than strictly UK.
Some shops have a good online presence. Rollersnakes with the podcast and videos. Welcome post cool videos from time to time. But hard for a shop to pump out content - and unrealistic for skaters to expect them to do this.
And I am kind of fascinated by the success of Dan Webz, considering he’s a a UK-based YouTuber. Hate his content - he comes across as a bit thick and kneejerk reactionary - but I didn’t think you’d be able to get that model to work in the UK (although his content often covers US skateboarding). He managed to host a well-attended skate comp at the indoor near me recently - I think people even had to pay £5 to watch! - and flew Jeff Dechesare and other stinkers in for it.
