What’s that? A coconut?

It’s a heart urchin, (Echinocardium cordatum). More commonly known as a sea potato.

You could sign it Babe Ruth and say it’s his lucky old baseball that his grandad gave him when he played and sell it for a million.

I’ve got an old bat that was my wife’s grandad’s. Signed by Din Bradman and the 1938 Australian Ashes team.

That is so sick. Fair play for holding onto that

Haha, I guess it might seem a little like that.

My wife and I live between two houses both of which are slap bang on the beach. One backs on to heathland and the other woodland and hills and all the photos I’ve posted were taken a stones throw from there. I’m up and about by 5am everyday and with no job and no kids, if I’m not skating or surfing, everyday has the potential to be a slow-mo, borderline geriatric version of Swallows and Amazons. The only thing I really have to do is walk the dog. I’m on any number of different beaches and on or in the water daily one way or another, (swimming, kayaking, sailing, snorkelling or whatever).I have a fairly slow pace of life and have the time to look about, and there’s always something to see.

Up until this thread I didn’t really take photos. I always had the idea, rightly or wrongly, (even bitd, pre phones with cameras), that stopping what you’re doing to take a photo somehow spoiled the moment and stopped me from just doing or being present . As a result I have very few photos of anywhere I’ve ever been, of people I met or friends or anything much at all. Virtually no skate photos or video either. What exists of that was essentially poached as I almost always said no to getting a photo shot or filming a line or whatever - I just wasn’t into it. I’m fine with that as all was committed to memory. The only thing with that is that it can’t be shared that easily with others. I’m quite enjoying taking the odd snapshot now though, so cheers @nav for starting the thread.

I was the same for decades and only started taking pictures when I had kids.

I sometimes wonder if I did actually exist before 2012, there’s very little evidence.
