U.K. Skate Video Archiving *See 1st Post For Archive Link*

Just noticed a small typo in the list: the Casino Skates vid is called Rollin’ Dice, not Roll the Dice.

There’s another video that Owain John did called ‘Grow Up’

How do we deal with duplicates, if there are any more?

Same names are fine…in the same way that one person may have made two videos.

@anonymity and anyone else…

Was there a Big Push 2009?

Better not have been…

Yep, the shoe companies and Shiner (I think).

Thats the same as 2010 and 2011…but are you 100% on that?

Because I was asking on here a few months back and no one seemed to have a copy - and I really don’t think I would have missed that out, back then.

Build also doesn’t have a copy.

Does anyone?

I have 2009, 2011 and 2012 on DVD.
2009 is Shiner, Vans, Etnies, Adidas, Nike SB and DC.

Also, I’m sorry I didn’t get round to adding links and vids last night. I’ll get round to it this week!

Pics please!

No need to apologise…this shit ain’t going anywhere. ha

Someone needs to digitise all of these and upload them.

I have them all as single mp4 files.

Shit! I’ve definitely got that then. Just not with the others.

Nice one.

Yep, literally 100% on that as I did the DC entry, heh.

I might be over architecting this just slightly, but…

I just tested the Cloud Vision API with a picture of a kickflip, and it actually said with 77% confidence that it was a kickflip. Amazing.

We could use the Video Intelligence API to timestamp each section, then call the Vision API to label each trick… Pipe all that out to BigQuery and we can catalogue every single trick ever done in a UK skate video in Data Studio.

LETS GET NERDY

Haha it works with Kickflips, I tried it with a pop shuvit and an Ollie, it just classified those as “street stunts” and a probability of whether it’s a kickflip or not.

I love that they’ve trained a model to detect a kickflip, that’s so awesome. I love Google

If you or @Les_Zeppelin (or anyone else) have a better structure for data, then feel free to suggest.

For example:

Some of those videos where they are made by more than one person can be a bit messy. If you look at the Monster Network videos, that seems to be an interchangeable crew with the same names appearing and reappearing so sorting this or organising this is a bit iffy.
