I mean yes but no.

Usman you could add to that.
DJ.
Max?

Aldo is a fucking legend and well up there, and will be a Hall of Famer. Including Connor fight he lost 7 after that. Quite a lot for best to ever to do it.

I don’t understand where everyone gets this from. The best guy he’s beaten is Covington; Masvidal is mediocre as fuck and riding wins over Till and Askren that haven’t aged particularly well.

Aldo was undefeated for 10 years, fighting way better competition than Jones or Silva. The only reason they don’t get the respect that, say Shogun Rua, Rich Franklin or Lyoto Machida is because they’re not former champions. The reason they’re not former champions is because for as long as the weight class was available, Aldo was at the top. To then drop a class and go on a Roberto Duran-esque end of career renaissance is the cherry on the cake for me. It’s a shame he couldn’t get enough of a streak together to get a title shot, but Bantamweight is easily the most stacked division in the UFC.

I’ll concede GSP, he definitely deserves the accolades he’s given. I’d struggle to place him above Aldo but he’s definitely up there.

Khabib and DJ again have questions over the depth of competition they fought, but I suppose you can only beat the guys in front of you on the night. I think Khabib would maybe still be champion if he was still fighting, and I’ll never blame someone for making their money and peacing out whilst they’re still healthy, but retiring as early as he did works against him in arguments at placing him as an all-time great.

For me Aldo has faced the highest standard of competition for almost 20 years, winning most of his fights, and only losing to the absolute highest echelon guys that could also be called all-time greats in the future. Except Conor.

Went back at kickboxing last night for the first time in a month or so and showed up expecting a light enough session, especially as I completely suck at it. Turned out that a load of people were training for an event at the weekend and looking to unleash upon anybody and so I got my ass served a lot, haha.

Got my boy this weekend so won’t be watching live. Card looks amazing.

Hope Charles, Aljo, and Suga Sean win.

I’m gassed for Arnold Allen vs Kater next weekend. Worked with him on a few content pieces (CMOAC) lovely dude. He battered the shit out of Dan Hooker in his last fight, and first time he’s done that in a long time, usually decisions or the occasional Sub win.

Just rewatched this, love the bit where Hooker is fucked the first time and Arnold goes for a takedown and there’s bants commentary from Bisping. 1st round TKO fucks him up. Ranked like 6 in Featherweight.

Really hyped for this weekends card. Some mega fights coming up! I hope Olivera beats Kabib v2!

Been a pretty good card so far. Forgot the main card was at 7pm, bed time completed with little man to watch the last three fights!

Suga did not win that fight, but Petr Yan is a little twat and we all love Sugs.

TJ finished.

Hope Charles wins.

As a former BJJ’er I am gutted that Charlie Olives lost. But fair play to Khabob V2 - he is a machine!

Absolute smesh time.

Just caught up on UFC280.
What I reckon:

• O’Malley vs Tan was closer than I was lead to believe seeing reports/comments. Don’t think it was a robbery.

• How the hell was Dillashaw allowed to fight?!

• Aljo giving it the biggun after beating a man with literally one arm was embarrassing. Took him nearly 2 rounds to finish him too.

• Makachev looks phenomenal. What a performance! Monster. Alhamdulillah!

Absolutely peaking for Arnold fight. Can’t be bothered to scroll back on insta when I got to meet
Him. Let’s go.

Anyone watching bellator

Smesh mob legit.

Haha, he wrestles bears right?

All mates with Ramzan Kadyrov. Fuck them all.

Yes! Local lad Jake Hadley won his fight tonight in UFC via triangle. His BJJ coach is called Bradley Hill and our very own @gawkrodger has trained with him for years at GB Brum!
