Ukraine and Russia

I was joking, but he might actually get one. Stranger things have hapened.

You could also argue that Ukraine is getting a pretty good deal for its resources. What price would you put on them?

I was joking too but I can imagine he’ll think that his dealings will warrant one and it’ll somehow legitimise/cement him for the future.
This world is crazy right now.

Yeah, no deal as been done but there is talk of it already. He has been nominated for several in the past aswell!?!

Absolutely no difference between Trump and Putin here, other than Putin didn’t make jokes at a press conference before his invasion.

Edit: Not a press conference, Congress.

Not to distract from the bat-shit evil involved but why does that clip look so Ai?

I know it’s not but it looks really off…

Maybe because until now we’d only associate such ludicrous nonsense with AI, have a laugh with it, and move on.

As a metaphor for the Russian war machine? Oof.

Trump says he is considering sanctions and tariffs on Russia unless they came to the table to negotiate a peace deal soon.

Trump says a lot of stuff

On another subject, I didn’t know this, but a missile/weapon system isn’t just there to be used. Caveats on it’s usage can be enforced by its manufacturer, and this is common practice apparently.

The US makes the best weapons, and missiles, and apparently they could forcefully prevent use against Russia if they so decided. I am not sure how this is enforced but apparently is a thing. For example I think the targetting system for certain long range missiles uses US geotargeting data and can easily be disabled. Most countries want/use/stockpile US weapons as they are the best and there was exactly zero reasons to think they could be used any way they wanted.

I was thinking ‘just sack off the US and bomb the shit out of Russian front lines’ but this is complicated, what if Trump says ‘nah you can’t use those missiles’ or ‘those missiles can only be used against Ukraine’, or some other statement that prevents their use. Could explain why EU has been gingerly treading around. If you start thinking about the possibilities and problems this could create it’s absolutely mental.

This is random.

I just had a day off. Ran some errands, played a bit of Nintendo, went out for coffee etc.

What the fuck does Vlad actually do all day?

He must be constantly housed in some massive bunker somewhere right? Pootling around doing what exactly? What does one of the worlds most evil tyrants actually get up to day to day?

He has a war going on, that would be full time for most leaders but he’s also running a country, spying and hacking other countries while running interference, propaganda and journalist killing on the side. Busy guy.

All while hanging out with his much younger girlfriend that he has hidden away apparently.

Probably refers to his dong as vlad the impaler.

Side note: feeling the urge to rewatch Tomorrow Never Dies. Haven’t seen it since I was about 10 but from what I remember the themes seem sort of prescient

That’s a child

“The Russian president says any ceasefire should also “remove the underlying causes of this crisis”.” is quite a caveat.

I think it’s possibly a very smart move by Zelenskyy, he knows Putin doesn’t want peace. He is basically calling Trumps and Putins bluff in-front of the world.
He comes to the peace table, Putin refuses. That leaves a massive headache then for Trump and his Ukraine are really the bad guys narrative.
