Some of you may know my wife has a shop Flutter & Fern based in Carlisle. Last May I quit my job as a communications engineer to share the load of 3 kids and self employment more evenly.
The shop we rent has 3 floors, we’ve managed to let some space to a friend for a studio. And we thought about other ways to diversify our income streams etc, and that’s how I ended up taking over the second floor and turning it into a skate shop.
It’s called Ten & Fower because the address is 14 Rosemary Lane, Fower being how you say 4 in a Cumbria accent. We’re having a soft launch this Sunday on the 12th to coincide with my birthday.
I know the advice is generally not to open a skate shop for various reasons, but it made sense with having a floor sat empty. It means we can split the bills and draw in 2 different sets of customers.
Yeh we will be doing online as well. We’re using Shopify as we use it for the point of sale. Using the experience from one shop and putting it into this one.
No worries, shout when you’re up online and I’ll try to buy my shit from you. I usually buy from Native so it makes sense to change to a similarly ridiculously far north shop
