Today we hosted Stu Graham for a “paint and create” thing, he spent the whole day at the shop. It was just a day of painting and drawing, finished off with a quick session at the new park.
Stu wanted to spend the day rather than the usual in and out nature of usual meet and greets. I can’t thank him enough for doing this today.

It’s going as well as you’d think for opening a skate shop in a small northern city
In all seriousness though it’s going well, we’re certainly growing and nurturing the scene. We celebrated our first anniversary this month, I’ve learnt a lot during the last year. And we’re trying to put things in place to make things better for the businesses, but it’ll take time to make a difference.
I did also get a job delivering for Tesco part time, just 20 hours a week for some stability and to take pressure off having to take that money out the shops each month.
In August we did our first jam which was a great success and people wanted a Halloween one, so we have that coming up in the next couple of weeks.
There’s no money in running a skate shop but I love it and wouldn’t change it for the world. We’re skint but we both get to do what we love.
