Buying / Trading 90s skateboard tees / hoodies / crewneck sweatshirts

Ignorance? OK…

Ironic isn’t it considering you linked me to a friend who has some of the brands I collect listed I thought perhaps you might’ve shown a keener interest if you grew up during the same time I did :100:

You just don’t have anything that good, and you expect ridiculous prices for what you have.

For instance, I think you’ll struggle to sell this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283674810459

If you just wanted to gather up shirts for fun, fair enough, but it seems a lot like you’re trying to get stuff cheap from nice people so you can sell it for a profit.

Dude I have over 100 OG Tech Decks also that I’m reluctant to sell but would always be open to offers. I pay a fair price for all the clothing I buy so stop acting bitter

OOF, honestly, those listings are ridiculous. I’m not even aware of techdeck collecting, there must be but those prices are scary man.

What was it? Can’t even remember that haha.

I have many collections that I occasionally sell one or two pieces from if someone else desire for it is more than mine. Its all about keeping the market healthy & not listing on depop for £250.00 per tee

I’m not going to question what you’re into at all, if there is a demand then there is a demand but something worth as little as a techdeck new can’t command those prices a few years later. You can’t force a market like that forward.
I have seen stuff I am interested in go through these stages (vintage music equipment) and people price things way ahead of their vintage value inflation and then some clueless artist who comes into some money buys it and then everything else similar instantly jumps up and prices normal music artists right out of this market.

Also why i’d never start collecting decks.

You might be able to flog some of those tech decks to these thesecrettechdeck on insta but not at those prices

Matix maybe? Were you on Matix? Must have been about 2008…

Not sure why I remember that one.

Collectors collect & pay a fair price for many items that are desirable that’s all I will say. I have sold 1000s of items in the past from various collections & most recently some of my childhood collections for silly money also. I didn’t post here to buy stuff to make money at all & I wanted to showcase that I recently started unboxing many of the things I own that have been in my attic & started documenting them that’s why I started this thread to see if others could help my collection of clothing grow.

I’m open to any offers & they are listed on eBay in this format to see what people are willing to pay for sure. No listed price is final when offers are open

It’s a big grey area, i’ll say that. Collectors will pay silly for something specific granted, I have done before but it’s the dealers that use that anomaly to gauge everything else around it and use it as a benchmark. That’s what spoils collecting for everyone in every type or market. It’s a real shame, means only the rich can have their nostalgia buzz.

I can’t comment on your garment prices, I have no clue on that stuff but those techdecks made my brain fizz. Some of the graphics on them are nasty and not worth the price full sized. No beef, just don’t get it.

I feel like it rings a bell, but I defo never skated for anyone, let alone Matix haha

The Tech Decks I’ve owned since 1999 as a youth & I once had a whole wall of my bedroom plastered in them all fully boxed exactly as they are now hence some of the sunlight damage on the plastics

That’s cool, your nostalgia is your nostalgia but seriously, those prices man. Honestly, i’m shocked, i’d probably be saying you’re mad if they were priced at £30 each

How much were techdecks new at the time and how much are they now, assuming you can still buy them?

pretty sure they were always priced around £5-8 over the years. I worked in a skateshop as a teenager in Milton Keynes growing up & would spend hours messing around with them even throughout my school days

I recently sold this one for £48.00 after giving the interested buyer a 20% discount from my asking price. I’ve paid £20-120(+) for many of my 90s clothing if they are desirable to me

Wow, that cheap. I’d say, only being 20ish years old they don’t qualify for “vintage” 30 years maybe? is there a graph of age categories?
To ask those prices I think you’d have to be listing them on ebay in 2069. Just my opinion obviously.

pretty sure anything 90s or older is now
classed as vintage
