Cars

That’s true, it’s almost better in the winter on a sunny day.

Both nice. It’s funny that you say you can’t fit in one, because one of the biggest people I ever met had an SL. My mates dad, probably 20 stone. He took three of us surfing in it once and when he cranked the boards on the roof he almost lifted the car

His was black and I quite fancy a black one just like it.

I always liked Mercs cos they’re mid-way to being Yank tanks. The wood, three box shapes, big engines…but not quite as boaty as actual American cars and much better built.

I associate R107s with Irish scrap metal dealers like my mates dad so completely opposite end of the spectrum

Have you seen the one SL shop built?

Sometimes people don’t mind paying, depends what experience you have had with smaller independents! I had a car in a workshop for over two years in the past and even though I wasn’t technically ‘ripped off’ I would have paid twice as much for a faster, better job.

Best looking car I’ve seen was at Dukes, but it just sold.

I’m with you yeah. But if people are willing to pay it they may as well charge it as long as they’re paying people well and keeping the business afloat. Agree you should probably take the less obvious route and put a bit more effort in to understand what you’re getting.

Fuck man I would love a nice Delta Integrale Evo

On my grail list for sure.

…and room for the kids!

I used to work for a company that was based in the same industrial estate, as a company that did resto work on all manner of cars (mainly rally cars). I think they were called HERO or something. Sadly, not based there anymore.

You’d often see some tasty motors parked out on the road near the warehouse. There was a Martini livery Delta and a dark red one (which was converted to RHD, not sure if they didn’t come standard over as RHD?)

Bonus is, that the road the estate is based on is essentially a 1/4 mile stretch, meaning they’d give it the welly past the office sometimes.

Mate who we do all the Quattro’s S1’s for has an original intergrale wreck in his garage. I don’t think he’ll ever get around to doing it but would be ace to see it done.

I really enjoyed just how astonished he was in this.

Not too shabby :sunglasses:

Looks like a Rappers Hearse!

That’s a bodykit right, not OG?

The ones I’ve seen before don’t have flared arches like that, particularly not at the back. It looks like it’s been modified to be Hammer style. Maybe done in Japan or by AMG for Japan?

NGL…tempted.

Ugly car, just hoping it falls into the ‘a lot of car for the money’ bracket. Like a 2008 Merc CLS

I’d start by going and having a look at some that are at dealers even if the prices are a bit over the top, just get an idea of exactly what you want/don’t want.

It’s a right fucking rabbit hole, though. Not really like buying a car, there’s hardly two of them that are the same.

Yer not in a rush would want to get it for September.

I’ll have a look at dealers / camper companies next time I’m in France. Do many people do Renault Traffic ones? Just thinking of ease of spares as it will be doing the West coast of France, Spain really.

If you’re not wedded to a transporter, you will get a lot more for your money elsewhere. Although not sure if they are as popular/overpriced in France as they are here.
