Nice - my little sister restored a Mini a few years (maybe over 10 now!) but it is long gone now. They’re mental things but I’ve not been in one for a LONG time - my son loves them. Seen some with B18 and K20 swaps which must be complete madness.
I’m lucky enough to have Mugen sports suspension which is slightly more compliant than stock Honda, but it is still fairly stiff.
I want one.

My old man had one for about 25 years that he got as an import when it was a couple of years old, it was a pretty good car mostly.

Kind of lusted after them ever since they came out and now the first lot of leases are coming to an end they’re a decent deal. I like the chunky, sort of brutal but also quite low key shape and there’s loads of nice details in there, plus 0-60 in 4.2.

I had a 96/97 Pajero for about 6 months, big old lump but of course not as big as a Landcruiser. 7 seats though. Thirsty.

It’s going into the homies garage tomorrow - plug that bad boy in and hope it’s spark plugs. It’s done 171k Iv done 50k in it. I love it so much but time to get something normal.

I wonder what the situation is in Europe with GDPR etc. can’t help thinking that this would be a bit more widely known unless everyone who works in insurance is sworn to secrecy.
I know you can plug in most cars of the last 15 years and see how fast they’ve traveled, think the police do it for crash investigations.
Would make you wonder what main dealers do when they service the car and plug it in for diagnostics, could easily download the history log and that will be stored and go where ?

Yeah not going to worry too much about data my car gathers as long as I’m walking round with a smartphone.
I get that , it’s more the speeding data being used against you for insurance.
