Quick search one for 60k and one for 120k
Not sure about the land crab. The maxi did though
First car nostalgia
Would love an XJ220 and an e type.
That was the car when I was a little boy.
Up to £10k probably a Caterham, vx220 or an Elise or some other B road blaster that’s fun to drive.
Up to £50k I’d get an orange Fiat 131 Abarth if I could find one but if not maybe an Alfasud, then with the change I’d get a Tesla as the daily.
Up to £100k starts to get a bit more difficult, I’ve never been massively fussed by high end cars. I’d probably get some sort of Ferrari just to see what all the fuss is about.
For a million fuck road cars I’d be off making a tit of myself in one of those GT racing series full of rich people who aren’t very good.
I’m not a car head in the slightest, never had parents who drove and driving let alone owning a car I felt was going always going to be out of my reach so it’s never been an big interest however I do find myself going down the YouTube rabbit hole and watching car restorations, fabrication and interior work and I know l’d love a big garage with something to work on.
Anyway there seems to be a lot of talk about minis so I thought I’d share this. Apologies if it’s been posted before I haven’t read through the whole thread yet.

I’ve been watching these guys for a while now they’re putting a 2.0 4wd engine in a mini, basically building most of it from the ground up over engineering and giving it all modern conveniences they can squeeze in. They’ve been documenting the build for over 5 years and they’re nearly there.
Gran Turismo ting. @hugo
This was harder than I thought.
10k - plenty of car for your money
50k - this one is 35k so some change for overnight parts from Japan. Some appropriately sized TE37s etc
100k - this one was hard but more time in the classifieds and I’d probably end up with something weirder. Or a decent R8 maybe.
or
1M - F40 speaks for itself. The SLS obviously isn’t road legal but it’s 750k so there’s plenty of money for tires and spares. Carrera GT, or LFA were runners up because V10s are cool.
I’ve been watching that. Incredible fabrication work! Lots of people put different engines minis Vauxhall XE, honda vtec b16/18, bike engines etc. Project Binky is a whole other level, everything is bespoke and has been thought about.
You’d have to get a F40, they are pretty cool. Things like the paint being painted on thinner to make it lighter and stuff. I saw one once at a petrol station. Closest I’ve come to seeing one up and close.
I was playing rugby in Holland once and a Ferrari convoy stayed the night in the same hotel. There was an F40 amongst countless other cool older models.
£10k - These things are sick. Had one years ago really good fun. Manual in Lachs silver at half the budget so I’d have plenty to spend on it.
£50k - Would be very tempted by this, but I haven’t got a garage though so in reality I’d probably buy a second hand Tesla…
£100k - Not into £100k+ cars really. If I was going to spend that much it would a sick electric car like the new Tesla Plaid or maybe I’d spec my ultimate Uberbus off grid camper.
I had one of these, previous gen 2.0 GT, it was brilliant. And a Stagea RS-4 which was absolute dad wagon
This is a game I need to think about!
So many to choose From , these are what I have my eye on first if the lottery numbers come in.
10k mk1 supercharged MR2
£50k merc Cossie evo 2
£100k mk1 NSX
£100k+ latest R8
Always had a thing for the mk1 then especially after buying the Crx and how ridiculously good Honda are at making engines you can rag and have tonnes of fun with.
I’m yet to have a go in one but one day hopefully.
You absolutely never fail with an anecdote that sounds rad.
Always been a fan of them selling an NSX-R with a bodykit for 400k just to homologate the roof scoop for the GT500 car.
Many manufacturers done it. Ford RS200, 200 cars had to be made to be sold to the public. The car was designed purely for group b rally. Apparently some manufacturers only made a handful of cars and showed them to the officials, and said oh yes the rest are at another site. Then they moved the same cars and got around the rules.
