Cats, Dogs and Pets

Well done @Sleipnir for getting him out and I’m glad he’s ok. I don’t want to be an alarmist but are you aware of the possibility of secondary drowning aka dry drowning after an incident like that?

If that was my dog I’d probably have got her checked over by a vet. I’d certainly be keeping an eye out for any symptoms that might suggest something’s up as it can take up to 48 hours to be in the clear. Have a quick Google if you’re not sure what to look out for. Sincerely hope that all’s good with him though and there’s nothing to worry about.

You’re quite right. My kids said the same so we took him to the vet and got him checked out. He also got a steroid and antibiotic shot.

Im bringing this thread back as pets are rad.

Anyone got any new additions to their family since the last post?

We got this cheeky chap thirteen months ago and is our first dog.

He looks ace, we keep thinking about a dog, any time we spend any time up in the lakes we get jealous of all the good boys everywhere. Would suit us too, I work from home, we tend to holiday places where a dog could come along. Only worry is if/how the cats would cope with it.

Not a new dog, but the snow this morning made me remember how rad they are. She was hyped off the snow

I’ve added this little delight to my life. 11 months old and already trained to chill at the skatepark and not mind riding in a basket on my bike.

We added Inky to our menagerie in July..

..and my O/H ‘rescued’ some jazzy looking chickens from a family friend last night. Too dark / cold / wet for a proper look then but I can show and tell them at some point.

Dude you’ve got a black and white cat and in the background you have a poster of L’Étoile Mystérieuse. Sick.

@markg Do it! Best thing we ever did was get a dog as they are such good companions. Don’t get me wrong it’s a big commitment but very rewarding.. You and your dog would be buzzing cutting about on Fleetwood prom every day.. As for cats I would worry more what the dog would think as they are generally more scared of cats than the other way around imo.

The black one is 15 and still going strong. If a little confused at times. The white one is 8

A fine role model.

My family choose the animals, I just fulfill the “there is no love greater than that between a Dad and the pet/s he didn’t want” prophecy.

Is that a Cavalier King Charles? My girlfriend is trying to convince me to get one of those at the moment.

@suitcase yup, it is. She’s super chilled most of the time and gets on really well with my existing cats.
