Respect. That headwind up Ringinglow Rd must have been tough?
@jamjar not sure I’ve got it in me tbh
@deegwaad yeah not gonna lie morale was low at certain points and that was one of them!
@ParmoViolets yeah it’s a hilly one. Years ago it used to be pancake flat on a different route apparently. Now it’s sadistic ![]()
I had a load of pints at sheaf view and some more at the ground to celebrate well in mate
My second longest race on Saturday In apocalyptic conditions. Needless to say I’m feeling it in my body now.
Wait, what? You ran like 60 miles of Lakes terrain?!? Holy shiiii…
Mate I can’t even. ![]()

The real nutters are running the width of the country. A lot of them are still out there now and they started an hour after me on Saturday.. Now that is mental. Makes my race look like a fun run.
Jesus wept. Puts a half marathon into perspective!
Literally can’t run to the top of my close ![]()
Well done!

Been meaning to reply to this one…
This is beyond fucked! I’ve done road running in the Lakes but off-road is a different league.
My first marathon was the Great Langdale Marathon in 2005. The course was brutal, up and down the whole time with at least six 25% climbs. It was two loops of the Great and Little Langdale valleys. I was in first place after the first loop and hit the wall 3/4 of the way along the second, reduced to limping pace on a long climb. I finished it in 3h37m and came 5th. I only came 5th because the guy in front of me collapsed 100m from the finish and had to be airlifted to hospital.
We both came back the next year and he beat me by 5 minutes (I ran 3h08m).
Anyway, this reply is mainly an excuse for me to blow my own trumpet about my glory days but also to say hats off to that run.
The Langdale Marathon is regarded as the hardest marathon in the country, purely brutal. Fair play finishing it and doing so well.
What headphones to people have? I’ve broken yet another pair of dirt cheap in-ear wired headphones.
Are expensive wireless ones actually worth it? What’s a good set?
Got some AirPods that have done the job.
I guess it all depends on your budget.
Sorry should say I have a Samsung phone. Budget is…low. can you get anything for like 50 or 60 quid? Spent too much on shit recently.
this list is telling me maybe start just processing the thoughts in your head.
Bloody hell.
I actually ran with no headphones for ages. Just me and nature like a big fat hippy. Might have to go back to that looking at those prices.
…or I might just buy some more cheap landfill shite for 15 quid to keep me going for a few more months.
Thanks
forgot to charge mine and had to go with my own thoughts a few weeks back.
turns out other runners actively say hello to you and i didn’t know.
Just sing to yourself, that way people think you’re mad and there will be no interactions at all, which I assume will suit you.
No matter how often I’ve changed the little rubbery widget on the earbud, the right one always falls out. Every brand and pricepoint up to £30. Bah.
These are what I’ve been using.

For staying in your ear they’re 10/10 (for me anyway). I found them quite comfy and never had to readjust them mid run.
For durability…maybe a 2 out of 10.
Only had them since january and now the left side has gone because the wires have come loose in the jack.
The usual story with cheap and nasty headphones.
