Continually updated running thread

Nice! looks like there is a cave there too.

Going to Wales again at the weekend, might do the Bedgellert walk again but find the mines to explore this time. Didn’t have wellies last time.

Ah yes there is and I have posted that one before:

I took my wife and son there a while ago which was a bad move because I forgot how genuinely deadly it is to get to.

This advert came up on FB

It’s funny to me because I ran a 5k round it for free this lunchtime.

That’s mint, good work mate. Knees feel a bit shit so saving them for the small amount of skateboarding I do

Promises made, promises broken. We’re well into light night season now and I’ve been avoiding running as it doesn’t seem to agree with my knees.

Had pinned my hopes on my bike but a spring service isn’t going to plan and I’m struggling to get my gears set up properly.

Might sack everything off and settle in to fat, grumpy old man life.

Don’t suppose anyone has a promo code for OS Maps app?

Weirdly I just signed up to the free trial of that for a website I’m looking after like 4 days ago

What do you need it for? If it’s for plotting routes on a map then umap can do it too, that’s free. And chatgpt can tell you how to use it.

I’ve walked a fair few of the routes on here - Walk 8: Old Village Circular: 8 miles across the fields with great views & big trees on a boiling hot day. Mind the sheep poo though!! | northamptonshirewalks

Would like to start running a few of them as well really but was thinking just this would be the easiest and least techy option for directions. I’ve never used chatgpt and I’d like to keep it that way aha

Did a 10pm run because of the heat.

6 miles - didn’t see one other person. No one.

A deer ran out on me though. Was super stoked on that. Never seen one round here.

Big shout out to @Nozzleboy who is currently attempting the Bob Graham Round, one of the gnarliest fell running challenges - 42 Lake District fells in 24 hours. You can track his progress here:

I don’t get how people do this. It’s inhuman.

Good luck!

Edit: God this has really piqued my interest (excuse the loose pun there). Some people do double rounds!!

There was a 174km race in Vannes this weekend round the islands utterly fucked in the heat

Cheers all. Had an absolutely beautiful day with mates and family. Super humid all day but wet and super foggy for the last 12 hours which made navigation difficult. Very happy to have completed this iconic route.

Ran 10k, about to tuck into a madras. Noticed that when I go for a run I feel way better after but it’s not always easy to motivate myself.

If I’m not feeling it one day for whatever reason I don’t think about the run and just motivate myself to get my running shoes etc. on. Once that’s happened then you feel stupid if you don’t actually go for a run.
