Kids school has set up a Google drive “just in case we need to go into lockdown”

Think every school is doing that in case of a 1 day notice closure.

Our school is closed because to many teachers have Covid, not enough staff to operate.
The hospital where I work things are so desperate that they’ve just emailed out round everywhere to see if even non-clinical idiots like me can go and help out on the shop floor at weekend etc. Never known that before. Just watching some open heart surgery tutorials on YouTube

You get a three month ignore option, which takes you up to April 1st seems about right.
Sure. I don’t mean to just spam links. I just found that it was quite an interesting discussion and it definitely raised concerns about how our media landscape is growing more censorious.
We’re now in a situation on major social media channels that if you post anything that is simply perceived as promoting vaccine hesitancy, you can have your account deleted or your posts ‘fact-checked’ without supporting evidence.
It’s healthier to live in a society where we can freely weigh up different perspectives and make informed decisions based on the best available evidence as opposed to silencing or banning voices that we disagree with or we find offensive.
I agree with your point and I don’t want censorship either but when there is such a LOT of information out there it becomes increasingly difficult to make sense of any of it.
I lost faith in journalists a long time ago, there’s no accountability for most of them. I have barely any trust in any online sources that aren’t reviewed so I treat all that Joe Rogan type stuff as fantasy/entertainment. As for politics and politicians…well, lol.
But when it comes to science…there is still a lot of rigour in the review. It seems sincere and I trust it. When you have people who have been rejected by that process moving over to Joe Rogan territory it’s my view that they can’t be trusted. Maybe it shouldn’t be censored but it should carry some kind of disclaimer maybe?

At this point this shit has devolved into a faith or belief system. Antivax is essentially the same as religion in that scientifically it’s not feasible, but still people will listen to the sermons of those they find themselves aligned with. May as well be posting links to doctors guesting on christian podcasts who feel they can prove the existence of noah’s ark in that case.
