Mrs off to get tested this morning, our neighbors are isolating too. Nervous now. I have no symptoms, she’s pretty sure it’s just a cold. I guess I still need to isolate right? We’ve got no food in the house either. Guess it’s deliveroo until her results come back…

So my boss has tested positive.
I saw her last Wednesday. I got tested yesterday (nearly spewed about 5 times and got lost on the way to the test centre as well which ws fun).
Yesterday my boiler decided my family doesn’t deserve hot water anymore.
Because I have to isolate until the 23rd I can’t have an engineer in the house until then even if I test negative.
I managed to get a bath out last night for my boy and I just about managed to do the washing up this morning but now it’s running cold. I think it needs the heating on because it comes on very intermittently but not for very long.
How am I going to cope without hot water for the next 7 days!

Also obviously cancelled any hope of visiting family so Christmas Dinner is going to be chicken if I can get one.

It’s all perspective I suppose because I’d rather my boiler died than anyone in my family.
My family haven’t seen my son since last Christmas. That’s more that half his life.
My wife has had severe allergic reactions to biomedical vaccines recently so I don’t think she will be able to have it anytime soon. So that’s fun as well.
Have you done all the usual shite? Check the boiler pressure, thermostat control? Reset it?
I’m not sure if I’m to blame. It was on half a bar and I repressurised it to 1.25 yesterday. I turned all the caps back off and took the key out.
I did that after the shower was running cold the day before. Everything else was fine.
Its weird. If I turn the hot tap on now it will run cold. If I turn it back off and the on again it might kick in and give me a bit of hot for a bit. Shower is cold all the time though.
Has the shower got a mixer tap?

General thumb is between 1 and 1.5 I’d reset it or power if off and on again, give it 5 mins before testing it rinse and repeat, check the flue isnt blocked outside and that the condensate pipe isn’t frozen or blocked. Failing all that get an engineer in, British gas and my lot were doing emergency work for people who were positive and showing symptoms.
