Covid

Yer man I’ll text you haha.

As expected:

At least it sends out the right message for those that are going to listen I suppose.

Bollocks

Just try not to get off with him and you should be ok right?

Tested negative which is a bit of good news.

Got a bit closer to the problem. If I wack the heating up, whilst that’s kicking in I can get some hot water. Once the light blinks off for the radiators it all goes off and runs cold.

Probably a problem with something in the innards.

I’ve got an engineer booked…for the 22nd. Next available slot.

Oh well. At least I have a system now. Managed to get a decent bath going for my boy and that’s all I really need!

So what are people doing for Christmas? In two minds about going to Durham next week (from Nottingham) to see my family. I had a test on Tuesday, and it came back negative, but I live in a shared house so can’t really isolate. My family want me to come up but my mum is in her late 60s.

I’m just meeting my parents with my brother and sister for some walking on Boxing Day in the midlands then returning to London, I was thinking of staying the night as well but probably won’t now.

It’s a shame but the way I look at it is that the vaccine is being rolled out now so I’ll hope for the best for after the inevitable January lockdown then hopefully by the middle of year all will be well and I can spend some quality time with my parents then.

I speak to all my family way more than normal to try and make for it.

Anyone shortly going to be joining Tier 4?

Is tier 4 a thing yet? There is no way the North East is getting out of tier 3, new briefing, same old shit.

Great, here comes the mass confusion just in time for the 23rd!

Nuts how London will of gone from tier 2 to a new tier 4 in less than a week. Almost makes you think this could of been avoided had they done something much sooner like was suggested…

Shouldn’t London of been in tier 3 really, anyway?

Oh no I don’t doubt it. And I am speaking from outside so of course I can’t truly comment. Just a lot of things I have seen tells me that London etc should of been in tier 3 sooner. Admittedly this new strain sounds like its spreading like wildfire.

Fair enough. Surely Christmas shopping has to have had a massive effect on this all. I work in retail and am typing in a tier 2 area now watching thousands of people walk around no fucks for social distancing and an apparent disability at understanding arrows. Apart from the masks you genuinely wouldn’t think we were in a pandemic.

We’ve got the in laws coming up from Cornwall for Christmas. A risk of course, but given the year we’ve had (not just covid/lockdown, but i’ll save the details…) we decided it would be fine as long as we were safe before.

Apart from going to work we’ve all been basically isolating for weeks now, and the mrs is working from home. Keeping myself in my cube at work to stay as safe as possible and all having a covid test before they come. Praying all stays well. The mrs hasn’t seen her family properly all year and could really do with it.

Not really a follow on comment to anything, just felt the need to get it off my chest for some reason.

Yeah that’s what I’m hoping doesn’t happen… everything I’ve read seems to suggest it’s only gonna be London and South East.

Mrs will be in pieces if it happens. She really needs the lift. Was a touch choice, and the last few weeks have been god awful doing nothing at all apart from work. But it’s all been to make it safe for them to come.

Understandable if it does happen, still not easy though mind.
