Or just stick with thunders, never change and stay happy forever.
New setup arrives today, expect more 1 mph tricks
the best kind of tricks
What did you get?
Shoes too! Might as well get socks, pants, shirt and shorts to go with them.
Got Christmas Day goosebumps seeing that.
New shoes and new board is basically a prison-wank.
Forgot grundies
The trucks I should have bought
This reminded me of when I used to skate Vindys
Two solo skates with new shoes on an old board, then you set up the fresh board.
Surely you have a few skates with old shoes on the new board.

Both. My old setup is also skated twice though
With Aces, I find myself tightening or loosening them after every run, I just can’t figure out how to have them. The turn is amazing, and the ride feels really nice, but I really struggle to skate on very loose trucks, so it’s not making actual tricks easy. But if I tighten them to how I’d usually like them, they have this really weird feeling like I can feel the kingpin through the deck - it’s very odd and not at all comfortable.
If they’re too loose, try hard Bones bushings. I’m the same as your and can’t skate loose trucks at all, but can’t be dealing with ticktackng every time either. It seems to work for me anyway.
Thanks I’ll give that a go. I don’t think ive ever ridden anything other than stock bushings, I’ve definitely never changed bushings on trucks before
My one worry about the Lurpivs was the high kingpin, with less grind clearance than some other trucks, but now that I’ve used them it’s not a problem
The last two sets of Indy 149 Hollows I got are weird, the pivot doesn’t sit very well in the pivot cup, it actually slightly floats in there. I tried to put Riptide pivot cups instead of the Indy one that came with the trucks but that didn’t change much. It’s not that bad, doesn’t affect my skating to be honest but it makes my setups sound like department store boards which drives me mad.
Quality control issues since Indy has moved production to China according to Slap, something to do with the mold for the hanger not being right. Using Ace AF1 pivot cups apparently solves the problem. Ordered a set, getting them on Friday, let’s see how this goes.
Had 2 skates with Ace AF1 pivot cups in my 149 Hollows that had a pivot issue. The new pivot cups do solve 98% of the problem and do feel better. Try that if you have similar issues with your Indys.
Decided to pre-empt the trend of smaller boards and planning to setup a new 8.5 board.
Ordered some Slappy lights as a first step.
Smaller? 8.5 is a door
