Poor Things was great.
I’m looking forward to Bugonia.
Emma Stone is and always has been dreamy.

Going to watch Poor things this weekend then I reckon and cinema for Bugonia on Monday.
full agreement here. kinds of kindness was a weird film. favourite bit was the eurythmics at the beginning.
watched the springsteen film at the weekend. didn’t hate it. never realised he suffered with depression so always a nice message to other sufferers when famous figures make their struggles well known
Absolutely mental
Am up for Bugonia
Really enjoyed Del Toro’s Frankenstein on Netflix.
Yeah that was great ![]()
Finally got round to Mobland. Worth it just for Pierce Brosnan’s diddly-ai-dai accent alone.
Just watched the making of doco for Frankenstein. Love it even more after seeing that. Massive sets, miniatures, just incredible work.
Bugonia was good
Saw Predator: Badlands last night.
I didn’t realise it was a 12A! Pretty mad - but it is still pretty gory - but makes sense because…
there are no humans in the movie. So, no blood at all.
It’s tonally very different to Prey and Killer of Killers - but similar themes around needing your people/tribe.
I think some people are going to hate it, but I thought it was fun and fresh for the series and enjoyed it.
The You Tube is awash with the usual nutters complaining that it’s the end of the franchise and the feminisation of the Predator
I’m don’t think they understand that it’s not a documentary
(“Idea for the BBC, Alan Curtis presents Predator: how communism doesn’t have time to bleed”)
Fuck, that looks amazing.
I thought Frankenstein was alright, but way too long and in need of another pass in the editing room. Mrs fell asleep twice.
Yep. Same.
Well worth a watch.
Just watched Evil Does Not Exist on the iPlayer, very good and certainly thought provoking but you have to be in the mood I’d say.
Incredible film, check out Drive My Car by the same director
Saw that on 4OD I think it was, excellent film. To be honest, they had me with the choice of car as Saabs hold strong nostalgic value for me.
Went to see There Will Be Blood at the cinema the other day. Seen it before and always thought it was good but in the cinema it was fuckin amazing
