The Devil All The Time is good so far, about half way through.
Is Mandalorian watchable for a non Star Wars fan? Got a free Disney+ hookup.

Mandalorian is infinitly superior to most star wars stuff but its still heavy Sci fi
Do you need to be into star wars to enjoy it? I can take or leave star wars. Itās ok. Love sci fi though.
Iām not a big star wars person, most of the films are contrived crap to me but I love Sci fi generally. Mandalorian is the good shit
Yeah, I think Mando would be good without being too bothered about Star Wars.
I did actually watch Rogue One again last night. Itās really good - absolutely shits on all the other post '83 films.
Liked the first three Star Wars films, gave up Madalorian after about three episodes.
What makes mandalorian really good though is all the nods to the old films and tv shows. Without that you may as well watch murder she wrote.
Itās pretty much the only one for me (bar force awakens) that stands up to repeat watching. And I wasnāt keen when it first came out but now itās probably my favourite after Empire.
Agreed. The Force Awakens was fairly solid. By far the best of the rest.
I might rewatch Solo soonish. Only saw it the once - and its the only Star Wars film I never saw in the cinema (Saw 4 & 5 special edition, thoā¦not the first time around). Aside from a daft scene where Han gets his name, I canāt remember much about it.
I think we forget that the originals were silly too especially when we try and berate the new films for that. There are definitely scenes and silly discrepancies in all of them but they could have been worse, I kinda liked each one, if you just accept them.
Solo was nowhere as bad as I expected but did have some ridic scenes. Rogue one is definitely the best of the new films.
Iām fine with the comedy and silliness. I think the prequel trilogy failed in that it missed that element by taking itself too seriously and then the sequel trilogy failed in that it went too far the other way with the tone in that respect.
On comedy/silliness, Rogue One worked as it felt part of the same lineage as the originals as it had those actual laugh out loud moments. They got the tone just right.
Same with Mandolorian.
Exactly on rogue one, and we donāt even need to mention the prequels. Nothing redeeming in those.
I thought the Solo film was great. Iāve got a suspicion that Disney are gonna produce a legit star wars comedy at some point. If youāve ever seen troops (cops, in space) or read the Tag and Bink comic book youāll know thereās a whole multitude of canon they could send up whilst remaining canon.
I think Solo struggled at the time against audience fatigue and comparisons but I rewatched it recently and itās actually quite fun.
That Aidan guy who plays Han is actually quite good in the role and the film is so much more light hearted than what comes after. It spends way too much time on Lando though, and I really didnāt think much of Donald Glovers portrayal.
It sounds like most people are agreed on which Star Wars are good or bad now after some pretty furious debates over the prequels and sequels in the past.
Only thing I can add is that Iāll often hear of someone rewatching Rogue One and enjoying it but pretty much no one is up for going through the Last Jedi again from what I can tell.
I take it you havenāt dipped your foot into Star Wars Twitter. A mental place
Should I? Can I have a hint of what points are being made?
Star wars fans are the worst tbh.
Think a ā15 point thread on why The Last Jedi is good, actuallyā from a guy with a neck beard and a hatred of women
The Star Wars nerdery everyone spouts does my head in.
All the films are ok and a bit of fun.
Why does everyone always go into it so much?
