The game management was lacking from both the players and manager in not ‘closing off’ that game when it was at 2-2 at the 80th minute or so. They kept hoofing it back down the pitch and losing it to Spurs when they should have just shit-housed it into the corners or passed it about across the pitch widthways.
I appreciate their niche is attacking football, but they should have set their formation to 4/5 at the back and midfield with those few minutes to go.
I’d be very surprised if Spurs can win the final, but anything is possible.
Maybe they should have played for the win, but if that shot in like the 92nd minute went in then it was tie over.
I also don’t think Spurs should bother rushing Kane back. The best they’ve looked in recent weeks is when playing Llorente.
the issue for Ajax is that they have been a breeding ground for star players for a while and you just know most of their players will be gone before long. they’re brilliant at bringing them through so there’ll be more but this squad won’t be together for long
