Lol that’s quite impressive. Been some mad red cards this season already
Yeah even I thought it was soft.
We look awful, absolutely no intent at all. Only Wolves player that could walk out with head held high is Agbadou, he was phenomenal.
What was Pep thinking starting two brand new players the day after they signed. Idiot.
Trying to get sacked before the 115 charges drop. Signing a new deal was just his cover.
I know it’s Southampton but back on the wagon today, Isak brace
Didn’t see that 5-0 win by Bournemouth over Forest coming at all today. Always good to see smaller clubs punching above their weight and putting in legit challenges for the European spots.
Still soft but if you go studs up then you’re gambling a bit. Right result in the end though.
I would love to be a Bournemouth fan right now. Reckon that’s a blip for Forrest?
Through the season they have been justifying bad ref decisions with the difference between studs up and studs down and pressure. Lewis Skelly was definitely studs down and if anything it was flick of his foot and brushed with the studs.
Compare that to Gomes’ sending off. Oliver deemed this a second yellow (not a straight red). Difference being Lewis Skelly gets a 3 game ban, Gomes gets 1.
Gomes also kicked the ball away on a yellow, and Oliver decided not to give it the same treatment he gave Trossard vs City.
I just refuse to believe the level and consistency of officiating is unintentional incompetent.
Lewis-Skelly Red is soft, but studs are up end of the day. You see that connect properly and your man’s ankle is cooked.
If we’re going to talk about the exact laws, how many yellows do you see here, I can count at least 5…
Just about to watch the Wolves highlights. Did you go @Brewer ?
Not this week, I’m in Cornwall for my wife’s nans funeral which felt far more fun than going to watch Wolves right now. I did manage to catch the game though and we are atrocious.
Players don’t look arsed. Agbadou was good but overall I don’t even like the team. Cunha is the reason we’re not down yet and will be the reason we stay up (if he stays and we do), however his attitude has stunk for weeks now. Even before the window opened and there was rumours banded around. Just walking round, not even facing the ball at times. Just crap man.
I’m not talking about exact laws, but if Oliver is in charge of the laws it’s his job to apply them consistently.
Would have no problem if he gave the Arsenal crowd yellows, but he would have to do that to every team on a consistent basis, not just choose to apply it to Arsenal, which he has now done on 3 occasions with reds.
He was also the ref vs wolves for Martinelli’s double yellow, which has still never been repeated.
Ok watched the Arsenal red real time, it’s quite soft
Ps at this moment in the screenshot it’s Lewis Skelly laces on Dohertys shin. His studs have already brushed past his calf to get into that position.
It’s defo soft, and i’m shocked VAR didn’t overturn it. And Gomes was silly to do that especially on a yellow. Lucky to get away with a second yellow. However…
I get bored of fans of “big six” clubs talking about bad refereeing against them. The supposed smaller clubs get shit on way more, and not just saying this as a wolves fan (although even taking away bias a lot of football fans agree we have had it worse than any the last couple of years)
Reality is - yes a dodgy decision went against you. But you won the game, enjoy the win instead, you should be glad you support a team that wins games!
Totally get what you’re saying, but these are the things that decide the titles. Something we haven’t won since I was 13.
2 seasons ago we lost the league by 2 points. We dropped 2 points vs Brentford that season because var literally “forgot” to draw the lines and awarded Brentford an offside goal.
The point is, the level of incompetence affects everyone, top and bottom. Everyone deserves an equal opportunity. I was fully expecting Wolves to grind out a draw or nick a win with 45 minutes vs 10.
I find it very difficult to accept it’s not deliberate. Not one big inside job, David Coote was outed as anti Liverpool a few months ago but individuals who have an agenda against teams. Michael Oliver is in the pocket of City’s owners. The PGMOL will come out and make a statement, back their officials and it will be business as usual.
At this point we need the clubs to stand against VAR like the Norwegian league. It’s such a waste of time. There’s still no improvement - no consistency, glaring errors still occur, no fairness. It was much more fun without it
