I think it’s finally a great example of how corrupt he is for your average person on the street (obviously not most Americans but people who understand football). People that are maybe not the smartest and have backed him because they don’t know any better (or do but make excuses any way and now can’t).
That Trump is the thread that unwittingly unravels the cartoon jumper that is FIFA and himself in the process. Something he thinks is not important in his world view. A little bending of the rules, no real harm done but it’s a domino that makes the tournament fall apart and leaves everyone involved exposed on the world stage in a way that could never happen in politics strangely.

I don’t think Trumps brain comprehends the scale of the World Cup and its reach and what he has really done yet.
