Gabriel Summers ‘Gabbers’ part / Gabbers appreciation thread

Only got it on pre-order

Great to see someone with some integrity out there. I’ve seen a lot of parts and a lot of slams, but that Out There part was a really hard watch. GABBERS video just fantastic - big respect for this lunatic!

I’m putting his No White Flag part in here because it really is peak kino. Using Dido on a handrail part should’ve been thé worst idea ever but it wasn’t. This part is genuinely emotional.

Nah Dido is good.

Pop Singer Dido is posh I think because Dido the name refers to antiquity - she was the first Queen of Carthage. Interestingly enough (as far as skate lore goes) Dido was also known as Elissa in Roman/Greek mythology.

I hate Dido and that track is pinnacle of why I hate her music but I totally see why it works

Used to sit on the drive drinking red wine because we didnt have a CD player in the house. One of 3 albums we had was Dido. So it’s burnt into my brain and makes dido hella sick brev.

Also those Gabbers parts are amazing. Loved them both.

I’m struggling to choose between him and TJ for Soty.

So stoked that he did a glorious land on the flip 50/50 rather than something sketchy. That much of a battle you’d accept any land.

I’d be happy with either but Gabriel doesn’t have the energy drink money so it’d be cooler for him to get it maybe?

Saving this clip for later tonight.

Seems to me like he only really floated into our collective attention that bit later than most, like when he was pushing 30 or so. And then, he always looks like he has to properly battle every spot to land his tricks, which I absolutely love. Pure effort and no lazy entitlement.

Remember that horrific slam years ago trying to nose grind that monster out rail that Milton lip slid? He’s been taking these hits for a long time.

Rewatched this, and the ender reminds me so much of Ed Selego’s in One Step Beyond https://youtu.be/V3iWgNBzBOg?si=SMIWJ0Y4m4O21uj4&t=203
